Elizabeth Strong, proprietor
Elizabeth Strong was educated in Edinburgh and at Trinity College Dublin, where she graduated in English language and literature. In 1972, after some months working in London, she returned to Edinburgh to take up the position of assistant to Mrs McNaughtan, from whom she purchased McNaughtan's Bookshop in 1979.
Elizabeth was president of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association from 2000-2001. Her bibliographical interests include the Edinburgh engraver and publisher William Home Lizars, of whose work she has a substantial personal collection. She is also a practising artist and exhibits occasionally in Edinburgh and elsewhere.
Amanda Bruce, assistant
Amanda read English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, also taking courses in Philosophy and Forensic Medicine. She then went on to read Theology in History at New College. Her principal bibliographic interests lie in Twentieth Century Poetry and Drama, Scottish Literature and Theology.
