Recased 20th C. in dark grey paper covered boards with brown morocco label, titled gilt at spine and modern endpapers. A very little scuffing to boards with 2 scratches to rear board and one small circular spot (3mm.) to front board; free endpapers a little yellowed. The title and dedication pps. have been torn with loss - now professionally repaired; plates a little stained with 1 closed tear to inside edge of that facing p.63.Some annotation throughout this otherwise very good copy of a scarce book. £200

Spine and extremities lightly rubbed. One later label, skilfully matched to originals. Top corner of lower board (volume 1) worn. Bookplate of John Drummond affixed to front paste-down endpapers. Pages lightly browned with some foxing, most prominent in first and last gatherings. Very attractive indeed. £150
