And : Memoirs of the Principal Translators. Presentation Copy from John Ruskin. Signed front-free endpaper (dated 1848). Large 4to. Green cloth, blind with gilt titles to spine. Frontis (Facsimile of wood block from Biblia Pauperum) with guard in place + 323; [1] (blank) pp. Printed within red margins, the text of subscibers' list being blue. Binding rubbed; gilt titles rubbed; corners bumped and worn, edges a little bumped in places. Upper board and spine detatched from text block. First gathering loose with chips to outside edges of its pps. Joints weak in places. Else, internally, pps are just a little browned at edges with some occasional foxing throughout. A good copy with an excellent provenance. £350.

At a General Meeting held on the 26th March, at the Merchants Hall, Edinburgh." [1](blank)pp. With two hand-coloured folding maps of battles. Bound in half calf, blind and titled in gily along spine; marbled paper sides; rubbed and edges worn; upper joint cracked with board almost detatched and prelims loose. Inscription (dated 1879) at front paste-down endpaper and two numbers written on the reverse of the first map; the second map with a small (50mm.) closed tear down a previously repaired seam. A little dust soiled throughout and the additional article yellowed with occasional fingering. Still a good + copy with the additional material. £120.
